Kids Workshops

Lowe's Build & Grow Workshops

This is one of my FAVORITE things to do with my son on the weekends. It's fun, it's free and it's fast! Being a single mom of a 2.5 year old, I feel it's important that he learn these "boy skills", but it is also really cool that he sees all of the GIRLS building too!

Lowe's holds their Build & Grow Workshops every other Saturday and classes start at 10am sharp. You do have to register for these workshops, but it's quick and easy as well. Just go to http://lowesbuildandgrow.com/ and follow the prompts! The spots do fill up quickly, so just remember to get online and sign up for the next class as soon as you get home from building something great!

The Home Depot Kids Workshops

This is another of my FAVORITE things to do with my son. The Home Depot host their kids workshops on the first Saturday of every month. Unlike Lowe's, you don't have to preregister. It's just first come - first served, so get there early! Just go here http://www.homeimproverclub.com/kidsworkshops.aspx/ to see what the next craft is!

Your kid(s) will also receive an apron with a pin to put on it for each completed craft. I love free events like this that teach my son to build something with his own hands, and then he can take it home (FOR FREE) to show off to friends and family. The pride he has for days after just warms my heart!

Please let me know if you're in the Durham, NC area. We'd love to meet you out at one of these events!
