Make Your Own Chalkboard Paint

I wanted to make a TEAL chalkboard wall for G, but couldn't find anything pre-mixed that was perfect.
So I searched online and found a way to make it myself from ANY color latex paint.

It's easy! Just mix 2 TBS Unsanded Tile Grout with 1 Cup Latex Paint until there are no more lumps and paint away!

I painted on 2 coats to be safe, and it's WONDERFUL! I've found that Sidewalk chalk works best, as the little boxed of the chalk we used (back in the old days) at school is just too hard and actually scratches the paint off.

I found small clipboards at the Dollar Tree and painted them too! Now that is what I carry to the grocery store with my shopping list, and coupons clipped to the top.

Hope this helps with your project ideas. I can't wait to hear what color you choose and what you create!

Family Portrait in Handprints

Here is my take on a "Family Portrait". Our family may be small, but this is meaningful to me. On the back I put the date, just so we could track G's growth. Once Emma comes back from the groomer tomorrow we will be adding her pawprint to this.
